Doe Fry

Uses:

Choose this pattern when the fish are preoccupied and feeding on jelly fry. It’s not a guaranteed solution just like there’s no dead cert for a caenis hatch, but the Doe Fry is sometimes the only pattern for the occasion.

How to fish:

If the fish are corralling the fry then cast the Doe Fry into area of activity. Sometimes fish will top and tail as if rising to an insect hatch when in fact they’re picking off dead and dying fish, that’s when to cast the fly into the path of rising fish. Using a floating line present the fly on a long leader static or twitched.
